Here are three internet web site advertising methods you can use, through simply placing adverts on other sites and paying that website to show your add. The first of these is a sponsorship ad. This can include pictures and text and is usually a prominent feature of the website, hence the notion of sponsorship of that site.

Secondly you can use banner ads, similar to sponsorship adds but smaller in size and less pricey. When someone is looking on another website that may be similar in content or related in some way to your business, this banner ad will be in their line of vision, enticing them to follow it to your website.

The third way is a pay per click advert, whereby you pay the website each time someone follows the link to your website. This is an effective way to keep informed about where your traffic is coming from so you can focus on the most effective types of sites that is driving people towards your online business.

Here’s a few ways that are far more likely to get you some well needed money in your pocket fast than the many other schemes dreamed up on the internet. They won’t make you lots of money, but if you need it fast, its better than dipping into the credit card again.

Firstly, sell what you already have. Hold you very own online car boot or garage sale on eBay. Clear your garage and loft out and get everything together as if you were going to take it to a sale and simply upload it all online and wait for the money to role in.

Secondly, and if your serious about making quick money you can do this, put a card in your local shop advertising your gardening/odd job / cooking / cleaning skills. You know the things you may hire someone for if you had spare money, well do them yourself. The money will be fast and it will usually be cash.

Think about what you do for a living and if possible become a freelancer part time. There are dozens of skill sets needed out there , just log on to a freelance exchange website, such as Elance and you are half way there. So don’t look for the secrets that don’t exist, apply what you have, stick to what you know, work a bit harder and you can and will be making quick money while other people still scratch their heads looking for something special.

One thing is for sure, if you don’t know your customer source you will never be able to predict how many will turn up or when. What is worse is that you will have to continue with all the aspects of your marketing strategy because you won’t know which part of your budget is doing the job of getting them there.

So how do you provide excellent customer service?

Make sure you don’t forget about your customers, you don’t want a single sale its much better to make a one time customer into a repeat customer. In order to do this they should be added to a a database then follow up with each lead individually, multiple times, but at set intervals, utilising a  pre-written set of messages. This will show your customers that you care enough to contact them and dramatically increase your product sales.

Many people work hard on making their first sale but ignore the customer source, they just go after the next single sale. When you build a customer database and keep in touch you have the opportunity for repeat sales to your "list" of leads. People who start using this approach have noticed a dramatic increase sales. There is no rush mind you, after all you will need to learn how to use the system, but how will you use it? Initially, you will need to create a series of follow up messages, after all there is nothing more embarrassing than having a huge list who you only send a single message to. If your in the fortunate position of having been marketing on line for any length of time, then you should already have a first contact letter which you can use to get started.

The second message is the start  of the process whereby you keep in contact with your customers, this letter should go into more detail than the first one. You should consider about filling this communication with information you didn’t have the space to include the first time round. Emphasise how your customer will benefit from your products or services. As you gain more experience you can also customise the letters so that they are relevant to the customer source.

Your subsequent two or three emails should be brief and to the point, including lists of the uses and potential benefits your customers will see from using your products or  services. Be careful to write each message such that your potential customers can scan quickly through, and notice the salient points emphasised to ensure they don’t miss anything.

After getting into your customers mind its now time to start selling the next messages should create a sense of urgency, a limited special offer that they have to take up now or lose it for all time. You should give him or her a clear reason to order immediately rather than waiting. When they have read these emails, your potential customer should want to place an order straight away.

If you are unfortunate enough not to get an order when you have followed up with all the messages you have created don’t despair. It may just be bad timing, you can then consider a repeating email message that is sent every 3 months or so to keep your products and services in the mind of your potential customer.

Think about the customer source and place them into a list so that you can identify them appropriately, use extra comments to make it even easier. Then when you have something to offer that you think they will like send them a one off email blast.

The spacing of your follow up messages is just as important as their content. Think about what you would expect if you signed up for information, you don’t want one potential client to receive a follow up the day after he gets your initial informative letter, while another waits weeks for a phone call.

You should make it automatic using an email responder service. I use aweber, partly because they provide excellent customer service, but also because they have a wealth of experience in the business and therefore have designed their service to meet everyone’s needs, including legal compliance. You don’t want your email address banned because of spam so they follow the rules exactly.

Keeping in touch with customers can seem a little daunting, but it doesn’t have to be, many potential customers are lost because of poor follow up use a professional service and you will be one of the few who get it right first time every time.

I didn’t really socialise much with people when I wasn’t actually with them face to face before I started twittering, but now I wouldn’t be without the online community I’m in. I used to use forums to post questions then check back each day to see if anyone had been interested enough to reply. Unfortunately it was rather time consuming and often I didn’t get what I was looking for or maybe it didn’t work.

Now I post a question in twitter using the keyword target followers I attracted using Tweet Later a free twitter tool which helps you manage multiple accounts for business purposes. Often I get a reply back within minutes and a link to a help page someone found and though I might be interested in. Not only on twitter itself I also get comments and help in Facebook and Myspace too.

Anyway back to the twitter wiki what is Twitter all about then, lets start with a little background;

Twitter was founded in March 2006 by Evan Williams, Jack Dorsey, and Biz Stone, he concept I believe primarily emanating from Dorsey’s idea of quick update on what you are doing to all your friends at once. In 2006 Williams and Biz Stone co-founded Obvious Corp along with other former Odeo employees. Twitter was created as a separate company in April 2007 by Obvious Corp. Jack Dorsey was chief executive officer of Twitter until October 2008 when Williams became CEO and Dorsey shifted to the position of chairman of the board.

Today twitter provides the same basic service as every social networking site and virtual community on line today, to connect users, and to provide a hub or common meeting place for its members to communicate on a regular basis. So why not just continue to use the same social sites and forums you have always frequented, there is no reason not to, you don’t have to switch to twitter just use it in any way that suits your particular needs.

Twitter is there to give you and your friends a means to share information and  keep up with what you’re doing in real time now. There are thousands of people online all the time so won’t your messages get lost in all the marketing hype and sales messages, not really since your friends and colleagues can subscribe to receive your updates and you theirs so you can each keep up to date with what’s going on in your daily minute by minute life.

Over the last few years, Twitter has become popular globally, it is the fastest growing free micro-blogging software that facilitates keeping in touch with your social network through quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing now, what are you thinking about what do you need to know in 140 characters or less? 

To "Tweet" is the term used to describe the status updates you post on twitter within the 140 maximum character limit. For individuals tweeting is simple just text or log in and type your updates whenever you fancy saying something out loud to the world, but to be effective in the business situation, it has to be done systematically, at a time when your customers are most likely to read what you have written even if that might be at 2am your time when they are just waking up.

For the most business professionals unfortunately, this level of commitment can be very impractical because of the time required. Fortunately, there are tools which can be used to automate the process allowing you to post your updates 24 hours a day even when you are asleep.

Personally I find a service called Tweet Later to be the best one which suits me, they recently rebranded as Social Oomph but I still prefer the original name. Its really easy to use, the interface is quite intuitive in its functionality and there is an excellent manual in the help area too. Clearly this quote is aimed at those of us who cannot decide where we should start when we are on the road to success, but think about it you are already at the place where you will be starting from. None of us can change where we are here and now, since as soon as we move on, we are already on our way to success. Here’s another success quote to consider;

This time its about action, getting on and "doing it" after all if you don’t start how can you ever expect to get to where you are going.

While you think about these snippets of information, stop for a minute and think about your own personal success quote while considering the following;

 What are you going to do to turn a visitor into a customer? With its personal touch, a video testimonial could do just that.

Driving traffic to your website has never been an easy feat. If you’re in the business market, turning traffic into potential customers can be a long and frustrating journey.

A video testimonial is a customer giving their opinion of your service on video. It is more personal than a generic customer review tagged onto the bottom of your website with questionable authenticity.

To make your video you can consult a professional or by doing a simple Google search or, if you prefer, you can do it yourself. If you are choosing the latter, make sure you have the right equipment. Quality is everything when it comes to advertising so invest in a decent video camera or perhaps hire one.

Once you are set up, find out who is willing to participate. To make a good testimonial, the message needs to be sincere, clear and concise. 

Now that you have the equipment and your customers, you can begin the testimony itself. Keep it short – a good testimony should be short and sweet, no more than a couple of minutes long. Do a few takes, that way you can find the perfect one later. 

Whilst a video testimonial isn’t the be all and end all of successful internet marketing, a clear and sincere message from a happy customer is a good place to start.
